Tris'86 Joel
Dass eine Schweizer Band über die Landesgrenzen hinaus für Furore sorgen kann, ist erstaunlich genug. Diese Band hat seit 2005 weit über 200 (!) Konzerte in ganz Europa gespielt, dabei rund 50'000km zurücklegt, und ihre Alben in Europa, Japan und den USA veröffentlicht! Es dürfte an der Zeit sein genauer hinzuschauen. Seit sieben Jahren existiert die Formation um Frontmann Joel. Er rockt bereits seit dem 16. Lebensjahr die Bühnen im In- und Ausland. Seine Ex-Band "Supernova" löste sich 2000 auf (ein Teil davon wurde zu den "Lovebugs"), und Joel begann als Sänger seinen Weg mit SLIMBOY.
2002/2003 waren SLIMBOY support act von "Lambretta" und "Oasis", releasten ihr erstes Album in der Schweiz und kamen mit dem Album "We hate Slimboy" auf EMI Records raus. Im gesamten veröffentlichen SLIMBOY 11 Videoclips, welche alle auf Rotation bei VIVA (Schweiz) liefen. 2004 reisten SLIMBOY nach L.A (USA) zur Albumproduktion von "No Fires On Beach". Nach ausgedehnter CD-Präsentation bei über 50 Konzerten alleine in der Schweiz wurden grössere Pläne geschmiedet, und die Band verstärkte sich um Gitarristen Tris'86. Jung, dynamisch und extrem motiviert nahmen SLIMBOY ein Jahr später das nächste Album "Anthems" mit Clemens Matznick (Donots, Guano Apes, Revolverheld, Rammstein etc.) in Berlin auf.
Die erste Europa-Tour unter dem Titel "Punk-Inn Tour 2006" im Oktober 2006 war ein grosser Erfolg, und seitdem sind die Jungs laufend "on the road": 2007 teilten sich SLIMBOY die Bühne mit Bands wie "The Real Mckenzies", "Killerpilze", "Hell is for heroes", "3feet smaller", "Vanilla Sky" & "Lost Alone".
Im November 2007 gingen SLIMBOY mit den MTV-Durchstartern "Itchy Poopzkid" für 3 Wochen auf D/A/CH Tour. Dazu Joel: "Unsere Wurzeln sind die Musik. Unser Herz schlägt Beats! Wir rocken um zu Leben!"...SLIMBOY stammen aus Basel... Joel: "Na ja, Rock-City ist was anderes. Aber wir lieben die Stadt! Jeder von uns hat dort seinen musikalischen Grundstein und wohnt dort. Freunde und Familie lieben und supporten uns 100%ig. Ohne diesen Antrieb hätten wir wohl schon schlapp gemacht!" 2008 geht die Reise weiter...
Im März gingen SLIMBOY auf Headliner Tour; die "Kings will never die Tour 2008" und im April waren SLIMBOY Special Guests auf der "Die Happy" "Six-Tour" 2008.
Im Sommer 2008 standen neben den Tourneen auch zwei der grössten Festivals der Schweiz an: das GREENFIELD FESTIVAL und das GURTEN OPENAIR bei denen SLIMBOY neben Bands wie "Enter Shikari", "The Blackout", "Rise Against", "Die Ärzte", "Beatsteaks", "Linkin Park", "HIM", "N.E.R.D" und vielen mehr stand! Des Weiteren stehen im Herbst eine Tour mit Peilomat und eine eigene Headliner Tour an! KINGS WILL NEVER DIE!

The
fact itself that this band has left a sensation outside their own country is
amazing enough! The band has played way over 200(!) concerts since 2005, has
driven about 50’000km and has released their records in Europe, Japan and the
USA – it’s time to take a closer look!
The
band formed in 2000 and has changed several times around founding member Joel
Bader. He rocks the stage since he’s 16. His ex-band Supernova broke up in 2000
(some of them became members of the famous Swiss band “Lovebugs”) and Joel began
his career as singer with SLIMBOY.
In
2002/2003 SLIMBOY supported acts like ”Lambretta” and “Oasis”, they also
released their first record in Switzerland and their second record “We hate
Slimboy” was released on the major label EMI Records. The Band has released 11
video clips of which all where broadcasted by VIVA (Switzerland). In 2004
SLIMBOY went to L.A (USA) to record “No Fires On Beach”. After promoting the
record on a promo tour, which included 50 concerts in Switzerland alone, the
band was ready to take the next step. After Tris’86 joined the band “Anthems”
was recorded in Berlin. Like on “No Fires On Beach” the band worked again
together with Clemens Matznick (Donots, Guano Apes, Revolverheld, Rammstein
etc.).
The
band’s first tour throughout Europe in 2006, which was entitled “Punk-Inn Tour
2006”, was a big success and since then the band is constantly “on tour”. In
2007 SLIMBOY shared the stage with bands like “The Real McKenzies”,
“Killerpilze”, “Hell Is For Heroes”, “3feet smaller”, Vanilla Sky” & “Lost
Alone”.
In
November 2007 SLIMBOY went on tour for three weeks with the MTV-stars “Itchy
Poopzkid” on their “Time to Ignite Tour” which included Germany, Switzerland
and Austria. Joel: “Our roots always will be the music. Music pumps through our
veins and we rock to survive!” “We’re from Basel… well that’s not a “Rock-City”
but we love it! We began to make music right here and we live here. Friends and
family are our biggest support and without them we’ll probably wouldn’t be were
we are now!”In 2008 the journey continues…
On March 2008 SLIMBOY went on their headlining tour; the “Kings Will Never Die
Tour 2008” and on April they were the “special guests act" on the “Die Happy”
“Six-Tour 2008”.
During the summer of 2008 the band played two of the
biggest festivals in Switzerland: the GREENFIELD FESTIVAL and the GURTEN
OPENAIR on which SLIMBOY shared the stage with bands such as “Enter Shikari”,
“The Blackout”, “Rise Against”, “Die Ärzte”, “Beatsteaks”, “Linkin Park”,
“HIM”, “N.E.R.D” a.o.
In fall 2008 the band
will support the German band “Peilomat” and will be on a headlining tour. KINGS
WILL NEVER DIE!
